Share your Innway My

If you want to share an item attached to your Innway Find My, you can share it in the Find My app so the borrower can see it on their map and find it. If it’s nearby, the Find My app can ring it. People you’re sharing items with don’t receive tracking notifications when the items are moving with them.

You can share your Innway Find My with up to five borrowers in addition to yourself, for a total of six users per Innway Find My, as long as the following requirements are met:

  • Two-factor authentication must be turned on for your Apple ID.
  • The person you share with must have an Apple ID and be signed in to iCloud with their Apple ID. You can’t share with a child account.
  • The owner and borrowers must have iCloud Keychain turned on.

Ask the owner to share Innway Find My

If the owner of an Innway Find My shares it with you but doesn’t do so in the Find My app, you’ll receive an unknown Find My device notification and tracking notifications. To stop receiving tracking notifications for the Innway Find My, ask the owner to share it with you in the Find My app.

Note: You can only ask an owner to share an Innway Find My if you’re in the same Family Sharing group. See Add a member to a Family Sharing group on iPhone.

  1. In the tracking notification you receive, tap Ask Owner to Share Find My device.
  2. Tap Ask Owner.

If the owner wants to add you as a borrower, you receive an invitation to share the Innway Find My.

Accept or decline an invitation to share

If you’re invited to share an Innway Find My, you receive a notification.

To see the invitation in the Find My app, tap Items, then do one of the following:

  • Accept the invitation: Tap Add.
  • Decline the invitation: Tap Don’t Add.

After adding the Innway Find My, it appears in your Items list below [Sharer]’s Items. You stop receiving tracking notifications for as long as you borrow the Innway Find My.

Stop sharing an Innway Find My

If you no longer want to share your Innway Find My, you can stop sharing in the Find My app.

  1. Open the Find My app on your iPhone or iPad, then tap Items.
  2. Tap the name of the item you’re sharing, then tap the name of the person you’re sharing it with.
  3. Tap Stop Sharing, then tap Stop Sharing again.

The person you were sharing with no longer sees the location of your Innway Find My, but may still get tracking notifications when your Innway Find My is moving with them.
